Roblox Username Rules: What's Allowed in 2026

If you’ve typed a stylized name into Roblox’s sign-up screen and watched it get rejected, it’s not a glitch - the username field is one of the plainest on any major platform. No decoration, no symbols, no exceptions. Knowing the actual rules up front saves you from cycling through rejections.

The character rules are stricter than they look

Roblox usernames can only contain:

• Letters and numbers (standard A-Z, 0-9, no accented or stylized characters)
• A single underscore, and only one

No spaces, no periods, no hyphens, no emoji, and no Unicode styling of any kind - the fonts and symbol sets that work fine in a bio or a display name field elsewhere get silently rejected here.
